Chefdesigner \u00b7 Edelsteinexperte \u00b7 12. Generation<\/h3>\n

Thomas Leyser ist inmitten au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlicher Farbedelsteine aufgewachsen \u2013 und hat sie nie verlassen.<\/p>\n

In eine der traditionsreichen Edelsteinfamilien Idar-Obersteins hineingeboren, wuchs er umgeben von den Steinen, Schleifern und Kunsthandwerkern auf, die die Region seit Jahrhunderten pr\u00e4gen. Sein Gro\u00dfvater Otto Leyser baute das internationale Edelsteingesch\u00e4ft der Familie auf und konzentrierte sich auf die Beschaffung und den Schliff von Rohsteinen aus Brasilien und anderen bedeutenden Vorkommen weltweit. <\/p>\n

Dieses Wissen pr\u00e4gt bis heute, wie er Schmuck entwirft.<\/p>\n

Heute leitet Thomas das LEYSER Atelier in Idar-Oberstein und ist weiterhin Chefdesigner des Hauses. Er entwirft Einzelst\u00fccke und individuelle Anfertigungen rund um au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Farbedelsteine.<\/p>\n

Am Anfang steht der Stein.<\/h3>\n

F\u00fcr Thomas beginnt Design mit dem individuellen Charakter des Edelsteins \u2014 seiner Farbe, seinem Schliff, seinen Proportionen und seiner Pers\u00f6nlichkeit.<\/p>\n

Statt den Stein einem vorgegebenen Entwurf unterzuordnen, entwickelt er das Schmuckst\u00fcck um ihn herum. Gold, Platin und Diamanten geben Struktur, Kontrast und Proportion, w\u00e4hrend der Farbedelstein im Mittelpunkt bleibt. <\/p>\n

Das Ergebnis ist Schmuck, der getragen werden will: eigenst\u00e4ndig, unabh\u00e4ngig von Moden, gefertigt mit der Handwerkskunst Idar-Obersteins.<\/p>\n

Dreizehn Generationen. Noch immer eine Familiensache. <\/h3>\n

Thomas steht f\u00fcr die zw\u00f6lfte Generation einer Familie, deren Arbeit mit Edelsteinen im Nahetal bis ins Jahr 1639 zur\u00fcckverfolgt werden kann.<\/p>\n

Heute arbeitet er Seite an Seite mit der n\u00e4chsten Generation der Familie Leyser und f\u00fchrt ein Wissen fort, das in fast vier Jahrhunderten des Schleifens, der Beschaffung und des Handwerks gewachsen ist.<\/p>\n
