At the centre of this ring is a 6.21 ct oval black opal cabochon.
Unlike a faceted gemstone, opal reveals itself through changing light and angle. Its dark body provides the background against which flashes of colour appear and disappear as the ring moves.
Thirty-eight brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 0.25 ct frame the opal, while 18k rose gold introduces warmth around the cooler, shifting colours of the stone.
The design remains deliberately simple: one remarkable opal, given the space to do what opal does best.
