At the centre of this pendant is a 3.63 ct heart-shaped Paraíba tourmaline, measuring 10.5 × 9 mm and distinguished by the electric blue-green colour for which these exceptional tourmalines are known.
Set in 950 platinum, the design is deliberately restrained. The cool tone of the metal recedes around the stone, allowing its colour, shape and natural intensity to take the lead.
The heart is a demanding shape to cut well — its symmetry, proportions and central cleft all contributing to the character of the finished stone. Here, the shape gives an already remarkable Paraíba an unmistakable presence.
