At the centre of the “Shangri-La” ring is a pear-shaped Paraíba tourmaline weighing 8.01 ct and measuring 12.1 × 11.7 mm.
Its scale, colour and proportions determine the composition around it. D/VS diamonds totalling 5.74 ct extend outward across the 950 platinum setting, framing the Paraíba without competing with it.
The contrast is deliberate: vivid colour at the centre, colourless brilliance around it, platinum disappearing between the two.
