Amour fou means mad love — boundless, consuming, and ungovernable. It is the only name that made sense for this collection.
Each ring is built around a single gemstone of exceptional quality. The collection features aquamarine in deep, glacial blue, morganite in soft blush-peach, green tourmaline with the vivid intensity of tropical forests, and rubellite — the rarest tourmaline variety — in deep crimson. Every stone is selected in a vintage cut. These cuts are chosen to maximise inner life over surface brilliance: the cushion, the oval, and the antique round that catches light as though holding it.
The settings are crafted in 18k gold — rose or white, depending on the stone. Proportions are calibrated to serve the gem rather than compete with it. The collection is available in two sizes and can be configured with or without a diamond halo. This allows each piece to adapt to the wearer’s preference, from quiet intensity to outright drama.
The Amour Fou collection originates from LEYSER’s atelier in Idar-Oberstein, Germany’s centuries-old gemstone capital. Each piece is available for bespoke commission, with stone selection, size, and specification tailored individually. As featured by jewellery editor Katerina Perez.
